About the Artist

Chloé Marie Hourdequin is a watercolor artist from Santa Barbara, California, USA.

I have been practicing my style and technique for over 10 years starting in high school. I was an advocate for the arts through my involvement with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Ridley-Tree Children’s Art Camp for several years. While developing my style, I would later earn three Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art History, Anthropology, and History from the University of California-Los Angeles, graduating in 2019. I have been engaging with my local arts community through my work as the President of the Art History Undergraduate Student Association for UCLA. I held numerous gallery exhibitions at the annual Powell Library Exhibition, artist and professor lectures, museum visits, and studio art sessions to keep students engaged and uplifted while pursuing their education at UCLA.

Further, I went on to become the sole elected Undergraduate Art History representative for the student board of the School of Arts and Architecture at UCLA. I soon began as the assistant to the Director of Public Programs at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles where I learned about the impact of public accessibility to the arts. I would then take on an internship through the Fowler Museum at UCLA, focussing on the archeological finds of UCLA alumni, amongst other donated collections from benefactors.

Upon graduation, I sought employment at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, where I held the position of Assistant Registrar of Permanent Collections. I would learn how to preserve and protect the multi-million dollar collection. Yet, as time went on, I knew that I needed to pursue my artwork as a full-time occupation. I began to build my art collection that is available for purchase here, and on my Etsy account.

I hope you enjoy exploring my artwork collection.

Thank you and Enjoy!”
